The puter did an update, and now my address bar is GONE !! I can't figure out how to get it back... can any 'puter nerds help?
Try hitting F11. I lost my address bar once & for the life of me I can't remember how my husband got it back. But, I just googled it & someone suggested hitting F11. I just tried it & it made my bar disappear & come back. So, hopefully it will work.
Crap, that's what I get for listening to some guy that I found on google. This is going to bug me, now I want to know how to fix it.
When does your hubby get home? Actually pretty soon I'll be off this computer till tomorrow. Maybe one of the resident teenaged geniuses will be able to fix it.
Depends on how badly all of the courteous drivers just trying to get from place to place screw up the traffic. I'll ask him if he remembers how he did it. If he doesn't, I suppose I can ask my computer geek brother-in-law tonight.
Give this a try Emtee. Method 1 should take care of the problem. Method 1: Change the Toolbar settings To change the Toolbar settings: Start Internet Explorer, click View and then point to Toolbars. If there is not a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to place the check mark. If there is a check mark next to Address Bar, click Address Bar to remove the check mark, and then click Address Bar to place the check mark. If the Address bar is in the upper right corner and not available, right-click Address, and then click Lock the Toolbar to remove the check mark. Click Address, and then drag the Address bar where you want it. If the problem is still not resolved, go to Method 2. Back to the top Method 2: Delete the WebBrowser registry key Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. I checked with the hubby & brother-in-law & both said F11, which we alreay know didn't work. Sorry, I was really hoping one of them knew the magic key to press.
Thanks guys! If neither of the teenage genuises managed to make it work, I'll try these when I get home.
Sorry, made a mistake! Not Control F,V, or T! It is Alt F,V, or T to get to your File, View or Tools.
