In south florida where the starting salaries are in the 50k's and top outs 75-80k with high pension percentages and DROP plans its a totally different story. Thousands of applicants for the available positions, you have to do everything you can to put yourself at the top of the list.

If you really want to become a cop just pay attention to the things your read on this site. Ears open, mouth shut, physically fit and have morals. Everything else will fall into place with some good free veteran officer advise. In my seveteen years I have helped a ton of guys for free!
