Police Entrance Exam Police Officer Employment Test, May 05, 2012 The Hamilton Police Department is offering a Police Officer Entrance Examination for persons interested in becoming a Hamilton Police Officer. At this time there is one full-time opening and three part-time openings. All persons must REGISTER ONLINE to take the examination by going to www.publicsafetyllc.com. Examination Information Examination Date: Saturday May 5, 2012 at 9:00 AM (doors open at 8:30 AM) Examination Location: Pingree School, 537 Highland Street., Hamilton, MA Examination Registration: Register ONLINE at www.publicsafetyllc.com Deadline for Registration: Monday April February 30, 2012 at 9:00 AM Registration Information: View the Examination Registration Packet Examination Fee: $65.00 Age Requirement: According to Massachusetts General Law, candidates cannot attend a Massachusetts Police Academy until they have turned 21 years of age. Those under 21 are not prohibited from taking the entrance exam, however, could not be hired until after their 21st birthday. Employment Information The salary range for the full-time position is $40,976.00 to $55,931.20. The Hamilton Police Department also offers additional incentives: shift differential for evening and midnight shifts, educational incentives, clothing and cleaning allowances, paid vacation, holiday and sick leave. Part-time officers are paid at an hourly rate of $16.96 to $ 20.21 an hour. Preference given to applicants who have successfully completed a full or part time Massachusetts approved Municipal Police Training academy. All phases of the recruitment process are on a pass/fail basis and candidates must successfully complete one phase in order to move onto the next phase of the process. Candidates successful in the written examination may be invited to participate in the following additional steps in the recruitment process: 1. Physical ability testing, date to be determined. 2. Oral Interview, date to be determined. 3. Police Chief Interview, date to be determined. 4. Offer of employment contingent upon passing the following: Background investigation, Psychological Examination, Acceptance into Massachusetts Police Training Committee Recruit Academy and Physical Examination.
