Gun licensing requirements vary at discretion of local police

  1. Johnny Law Always outnumbered. Never outgunned.

I am pleased he comes to this website just to find out how fucking reviled he is by his former profession. If I forgot to say it, GFY Glidden, I hope you wash your mouth out with buckshot, with a high cap shotgun.

The problem is that Glidden's interpretations have sway over EOPSS. I remember when he wrote that article last spring regarding applicability of the AWB upon police officers. A couple months later EOPSS essentially puts out a bulletin to all MA FFL's codifying in official language a number of Glidden's positions, for example, narrowing without any legal basis the meaning of "for law enforcment purposes" to essentially mean "on-duty use only"?

If I buy an AR to practice my on duty shooting skills (as my department recommends off duty independent practice), how is that NOT a law enforcment purpose? If my PD recommends taking my duty gun to the range while off duty, how am I supposed to fire the thing without any issued magazines?

Furthermore, what gets me is these opinions have little if any basis in the statutory language. For example, where does this "one an assault weapon, always an assault weapon" logic come from? I've never seen it written anywhere in the statute. A legal citation would be nice.

To me Glidden's positions are dangerous. He has posted on this site before claiming that his goal is to protect officers from getting in trouble. While that may be true, his actions have the exact opposite effect as police leaders and governmental agencies adopt his overly-cautious positions as the rule.

In the end, I don't think you can blame Glidden entirely. If we had no AWB and if Massachusetts actually respected its citizens rights, there'd be nothing to discuss and no legal ambiguities for Glidden to fill with his over-cautious opinions.

Whatever the case, I have to give Glidden respect for taking on by name a post he didn't seem to agree with: http://www.masscops.com/threads/town-of-lee-police-chief.96493/

The other problem is now he has the FRB sending out rubbish that has scared even Interstate Arms from shipping any Glocks with more than 10 round mags! Last time I checked, FRB stands for Firearms RECORDS Bureau..........thats RECORDS!!! Not the I can send out letters to dealers spewing BS interpretations of my anti-angenda for what I wish the laws were. They can all GFY

10 round glock factory mags for full size guns are notoriously unreliable.

Unless you live on the State of Cape Cod, you're never more than an hour away from a state boundary in which you can buy whatever brand new mags you want at a price a lot less than you'll get on a used f2f sale in state.

Edit: Then sell your circumcised mags to an unfortunate Class A LTC holder in state and recoup your costs.

Is anyone else's 2012 Scheft MV Law book missing the fee schedule in the front? I have to go to the specific page to find the fine amounts.
