    Retired Framingham police officer killed in Dennis lawnmower incident

    Police: Man's Dennis death involved fire, lawnmower

    DENNIS, Mass. —
    The state Fire Marshal's office is investigating the burn death of a Dennis man that officials say involved a lawnmower.

    Police responded to an Airline Road home at about 1 p.m. Monday for a report of a man seriously burned. Investigators said it appears the fire began as he refueled his lawnmower.

    Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe identified the victim as Robert Sambuchi. Wicked Local Cape Cod reported he retired from the Framingham Police Department in 2001.
    The death remains under investigation and foul play is not suspected.

    Terrible way to go. 26, I always thought well of the old soldiers or veterans on the job that walked up with a smile and extended the hand my first days on the job and always tried to follow in their footsteps with the new blood. When they go I always make sure I am at the door to show my appreciation. I am sure you and the boys will do him proud at his services. Rough one 26, sorry for you and F.P.D. past and present.
