Former treasurer of Lynn VFW indicted for alleged $300,000 theft

    BOSTON – The former treasurer of the Lynn VFW has been indicted in connection with stealing more than $300,000 from the non-profit organization, Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office announced today.

    George Robertson, age 65, of Lynn, was indicted by a statewide grand jury on the charges of larceny over $250 (four counts) and the false Use of the name of benevolent Organization.

    I wonder how much of that $350,000 went to the Mass Lottery and/or Suffolk Downs? Remember that gambling is illegal and immoral.....except when the government profits from it.

    When I was the union treasurer, my wife asked me what was stopping me from cleaning out the union's 6-figure bank accounts. I said "My honesty and integrity".
