Hey for anyone who lives in Bristol county I wanted to tell you guys about Alan Garcia. He is the only candidate running with a Law enforcement and Military background. He was a Mass. State Trooper for twenty-six years. While on the State police he became a Sergeant. He was stationed at Troop D when he got out of the academy. He also served in the Dartmouth and Bourne barracks. He was also one of the first ones to be picked to be in the Community Service unit. He also has served as an MP in the Army National Guard in the 747 Military Police company in Bourne. Also he has had numerous years of being a Corrections officer. I feel he is an outstanding choice for the B.C. sheriffs position. If anyone is intrested in learning more his web site is www.votegarciaforsheriff.com. You can also find him on Facebook.

Same Trooper Garcia that was a member of the Employee Assistance Unit aka the Stress Unit??

Yes Gil, I believe so. I worked with him at SP Bourne for awhile.

Great guy, he came down to my shooting, had a sit down with everyone working that night. You could tell by talking with him he was sincere in his wanting to help and not just going by the numbers. Provided a lot of insight on what to expect. I wish him luck. It would be nice to see a law enforcement professional in that position rather than just another politician.

Not that I have any issues with the way Hodgson has been running things, well other than the "Homeland Security" toy grants.

    Should be an interesting election.

Yes he was on the the stress unit. He is my instructor in Criminal Justice at Southeastern regional.

Well, when he forces his way in uninvited to work Law Enforcement in your town with poorly trained, unqualified people who strut around for photo ops and screw up every case they touch you may have a different opinion.

Funny though when the camera was off and they were in the middle of a shitstorm on some side street in between a couple of three deckers they had the same "thank god you're here" look on their faces that victims do when the real cops rolled up.

Just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

I was speaking more along the lines of how he has been running the jails, making the prisoners pay, chain gang deal, no televisions etc... I'm not a fan of the BCSD patrolling my city anymore than you are.

I at one time was of the opinion "the more the merrier" but I have since come to my senses...

Hey Gil I told Mr. Garcia that he worked your shooting he wanted to know what department you work with and your name if you are okay with giving that out.

I like the idea of no TV and the chain gang thing he has put into effect but as far as making the prisoners pay he has cost the county far more money then he has saved them with that court battle. Cant stand Hodgson and I signed the petition to get Mr. Garcia on the ballot and have been a fan of his on FB since he had the link.

Still not completely sure where I stand on my vote but I am leaning towards Mr. Garcia, (Gil's comments here certainly help with that decision).

Yeah Mr. Garcia is a good choice. He's no nonsense he has a lot of good ideas with the position. He has told me that he likes the idea of making the prisoners pay, also he is fed up with all of Hodgson's "Special units" that go out and distrupt current investigations and then end up ruining the investigation. He told me that if he gets the position he is going to scan all the personnel to see who belongs there and he is going to look into all of those "Special units".

Not that "he" (or you, as it sounds- in that case, You are more than welcome here!) sounds anything less than awesome for the job, but a lot of people have been elected on the grounds of "looking into" corruption.

Unfortunately, saying that he'll look into those units might buy a only few votes from the outside. However the insiders and beautiful people may band together for the opposition if they feel their assignments may be threatened with his election.

I hear what you guys are saying and I can agree with that saying he'll get rid of corruption isn't going to single handedly win him the election. About him looking into the people who work in the sheriffs office. He knows that Hodgson hired people that shouldn't be in whatever position they are in and those are the people he is going to weed out. He told me how if the person was qualified to be there they will stay with the BCSD.

You don't think there are people helping Garcia that want cushy jobs in return, too? It's happening in Worcester County for just about every candidate out there. At first, I wanted to listen to what you say even though I don't even vote in Bristol County. But come on dude, put the kool-aid down. Vote for me, get a job/keep your job. Or else you'll somehow end up on the "not qualified" list and get bounced. Hey all you deputies out there, am I in the ballpark here?
