Dad Gets Traffic Tickets After Saving Son From Cliff Dad whose Jeep went into lake while he saved son from falling off cliff is rewarded with two tickets from cops
What do you wanna bet the 5 year old was not properly restrained in the car. The kid was able to unbuckle, open the heavy door of an SUV, climb down, and sprint to the "cliff" all without the father noticing or caring? I'm not sure about anyone else, but my daughter knows she is not to remove her seatbelt, or open the door unless she is told to do so.
So does mine, but she does it anyways... And I don't spare the rod in my house, just in case anyone thought that was the case. Sent from my ADR6350
Typical media hit piece, trying to make the cops look like the bad guys. They must not teach you in journalism school that parents ARE SUPPOSED TO PREVENT THEIR CHILDREN FROM HARMING THEMSELVES!!!!! This is like commending someone for breathing.
Daddy lacking common sense - no child safety locks, (an '06 Commander has them) and kid not properly restrained. He's bitching about $110 bucks when he could be planning his kids funeral. Ungrateful piece of shit!
Failure to show insurance card is a chicken shit charge in this case, but I have no problem with the other.
I do, but she's gotten out of her seat no problem. I suspect a Jeep like that in the story does not. Edit: I guess mtc nailed it with the locks. Let's pile on though, I'm sure we're all perfect parents here who've never had an oh shit moment with our kids. Knowing how fast kids can get in hot water, I'm not going to judge.... Much like I won't judge officer. Dad could have been a problem, or frequent flyer for all we know. Sent from my ADR6350
I'd wager a fair amount that the only reason this made the news was that the father contacted the media to complain about how wronged he was. If he just kept his mouth shut, no one would be the wiser. In other words, he brought this on himself, so I don't have an ounce of sympathy for him.
You are probably right about that, but he is free to chat about his experience. I wonder what the media would do if we were as free to tell our side of stories... Sent from my ADR6350
I agree with Dan here, shit sometimes just happens. You can't always be a helicopter parent, and you can't always depend on Hillary and her village to be there when shit happens either. If it was me, I'd have just taken the tickets, said thanks, and paid them and made sure it didn't get into the news.
Of course he's free to talk about it, but when you do something to bring attention to yourself, don't be surprised when not all that attention is positive.
