No way. For a post-industrial nation, we somehow have an abundance of sheep.

I wish the good people of Lybia my best wishes in their quest for freedom from a tyrant. Just don't ask us for money, food, medical supplies, equipment, and most important our young men and women who proudly serve in our military. The American public are getting somewhat tired of offering our help to millions of people in some whacky country only to realize that they are not appreciative of what we actually do for them.

Gadhafi's son warns of civil war in Libya

CAIRO—After anti-government unrest spread to the Libyan capital and protesters seized military bases and weapons Sunday, Moammar Gadhafi's son went on state television to proclaim that his father remained in charge with the army's backing and would "fight until the last man, the last woman, the last bullet."

Seif al-Islam Gadhafi, in the regime's first comments on the six days of demonstrations, warned the protesters that they risked igniting a civil war in which Libya's oil wealth "will be burned."

The speech followed a fierce crackdown by security forces who fired on thousands of demonstrators and funeral marchers in the eastern city of Benghazi in a bloody cycle of violence that killed 60 people on Sunday alone, according to a doctor in one city hospital. Since the six days of unrest began, more than 200 people have been killed, according to medical officials, human rights groups and exiled dissidents.

Funny how these "revolts" weren't going on when Bush was in office. Although many of these countries are run by Dictators, they were friendly with the USA and kept the Islamic Radicals in check. The protesters (many who support radical Sharia law) have absolutely NO RESPECT for our current US President and thus are taking over. I hope Obama is 1 and done...........

    Gaddafi: Barakeh Obama is friend

Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi considers the US president a blessing to the Muslim world. In a speech published in London-based al-Hayat newspaper on Saturday, Gaddafi praised Barack Obama, called him a "friend" and said there is no longer any dispute between his country and the US.

Speaking in the Libyan city of Sirt at an event marking the 24th anniversary of an American attack on Libya, he said, "At the time, we were the target of the American cannon, the American navy challenged us in the gulf of Sirt and attacked us all along Libya's shores. America tested Libya, and the Libyan people resisted the large country, but today, thank God, the difference is great."

  17. BLUE BLOOD ...---...

If anyone thinks al qaeda and other factions are not behind this and Egypt you are sadly mistaken. Every day our gas, oil and food prices are soaring out of control , which cnn loves to tell us and more importantly them.
They have attacked us once again and didn't even have to board a plane to the U.S., let alone fly them into our buildings.
They know all too well fucking the status quo in the oil producing countries=fucking with us and our economy.

West moves military assets around Libya

The Pentagon is deploying naval and air forces around Libya as the US and UK governments consider tougher measures to force Muammer Gaddafi from power, including the possible establishment of a no-fly zone.

“We must not tolerate this regime using military force against its own people,” David Cameron, UK prime minister, said. “In that context I have asked the Ministry of Defence and the Chief of the Defence Staff to work with our allies on plans for a military no-fly zone.”

Hillary Clinton, US secretary of state, at a UN meeting in Geneva, said: “Nothing is off the table so long as the Libyan government continues to threaten and kill Libyans.” She added she had discussed a no-fly zone with other foreign ministers.

Rebels, Gadhafi forces battle over Libyan oil port

By PAUL SCHEMM and MAGGIE MICHAEL, Associated Press Paul Schemm And Maggie Michael, Associated Press – 11 mins ago

BREGA, Libya – Forces loyal to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi battled government opponents for control of a key oil installation and airstrip on the Mediterranean coast in a counteroffensive Wednesday against the rebel-held eastern half of the country.
The fighting at the Brega oil port appeared to be the first significant attempt by Gadhafi's regime to push back against the large swath of territory seized by the opposition — almost the entire eastern half of the country. For the past week, pro-Gadhafi forces have been focusing on securing his stronghold in the capital Tripoli and trying to take back nearby rebel-held cities in the west, with only mixed success.
In the capital, Gadhafi vowed, "We will fight until the last man and woman" and he warned that thousands of Libyans will die if U.S. and NATO forces intervene in the conflict.
