35-year-old Brockton police officers dies unexpectedly

    BROCKTON —
    The Police Department is mourning the loss of a young officer today.
    Officer Rebecca J. Greer, 35, a Brockton resident, died of a medical issue in Foxboro on Wednesday, Police Chief Emanuel Gomes said Thursday.
    “It’s been a shock around the building today and we’re all just saddened by it,” Gomes said. “She was an outstanding officer and a respectful person.”
    Details on the cause of death were not immediately known Thursday.
