SOMERVILLE (CBS) – Three men have been arrested after a routine traffic stop turned into a weapons bust in Somerville.
It started when police pulled over a 2004 BMW for speeding on Medford Street at about 4 p.m. Sunday.
Officers said the driver, 37-year-old Sherwood Gustave of Mattapan, had a suspended license.
He was arrested and backup officers were called in.

How smart do you have to be if you've got a half-dozen illegal guns and a suspended license, to go speeding down a crowded city street like that? lol

Just posted over there. Been a member since 08' and actually thought I would vomit after reading some of the drivel. I KNOW none of them would have the guts to talk to me like that one on one......

I think the issue with some at NES is they automatically associate every police officer with a licensing authority and there lies the animosity. We all know someone who knows someone who believes that their 2nd amendment rights were trumped because of someones political agenda. Regardless of their opinion, any "routine" traffic stop (if there is ever such a thing) that nets multiple firearms is a good grab in my book. Even If some "very understanding" judge is nice enough to throw out the charges, the guns are off the street and that's all I care about.

During an NRA Instructor course I took the facilitator said something along the lines of "Your LTC is your good guy card, if you don't have one, someone doesn't think you're a good guy".

I am sure they were heading to church choir practice, that they were all turning their lives around, with a baby mama with another EBT dependant on the way.
Now we shall see what convoluted non-sense our magnificent court system uses to throw the gun possession charges out.

    Bingo.

A lot of the NES crowd think everyone with a badge is part of a vast anti-2AMD conspiracy, and that every politician with a badge (chief/commissioner) speaks for the everyday line officers. In my experience, most street cops are very pro-2AMD.

    Nice job SPD!

After reading the NES forums, I came to the conclusion that a large portion of the membership fit the stereotype of angry white supremacists with guns. There are some good people there, but the mods should do a little housekeeping. It seems that that allow the patients to run the ward at times.

So, let me get this straight, the crowd at NES believes that to protect their rights to own guns, they need to prevent cops from doing a search when they see a holster in plain view during a traffic stop? And, on top of that, the guns that were found, some of them were stolen? I'm just thinking of how fun the irony would be if those guns were stolen from one of those guys at NES.

Screw those clowns at NES (with the exception of the very few who actually have some respect for LE - aka sgthoskins). I won't even go onto that site anymore.

NES can be an amusing site Peter. You have to sort the good from the bat shit. I would agree though that many folks over there dislike law enforcement. I also believe that you have a lot of keyboard tough guys over there that post about how they'd tell a cop to fuck off if confronted about their firearm but in reality they'd say "yes sir/ma'am" and comply.

I am starting to think that that is the way to control gun violence. Just an out there idea, but instaed of prohibiting law abiding people from having guns have some sort of absolute liability clause. Own as many as you want, but you as the gun owner are in someway responsible for anything that happens with one of your guns. Barring legitimate reasons, if your gun is used to kill someone you are a party to the act. Real gun owners are some of the most responsible and saftey oriented people out there so I do not see them being affected too much. Just an idea. I am sure someone will shoot holes in it.
