BOSTON -
A man who used a fake name while working as an Uber driver has been charged with rape.
Luis Baez is charged with three counts of rape after an attack last September, prosecutors said. He used a false name while working for Uber, investigators said.
Prosecutors said Baez picked up the victim in Boston, took her to a location that was not where she wanted to go and sexually assaulted her.
Baez dropped her off at Boston College, where she reported the attack to campus police, prosecutors said.
It's not known if the woman is a student.
Prosecutors said police tracked down Baez through the ride-sharing company's app.
"What's been described is a horrible crime, and we will continue to fully support law enforcement. Uber blocked this individual's account as soon as we learned about this last year," the company said in a statement.
Uber said Baez had driven for the company for less than a month.
