School: Administrator fired after violating student, faculty boundaries

LAWRENCE, Mass. -

An administrator at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence has been fired after school administrators say he violated policies pertaining to appropriate social boundaries between students and faculty.

The school did not elaborate on the accusations against former assistant principal Andrew Nikonchuk, but released a statement that said: "The school has begun a process to assess the extent and frequency of these policy violations, as well as the possibility of violations of the law."

The school said its working with the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.

Nikonchuk is a graduate of Central Catholic who was hired as an administrator in 2013 and currently lives in Lowell.

The school said it plans to update students, faculty and alumni to any developments in the case.

The Middlesex county District Attorney confirms they have been referred to the case, but cannot comment.
