Police in Groveland, Fla., are searching for two of four men accused of breaking into an Ocoee police officer's home and stealing an arsenal of weapons, according to a Local 6 News report.
Detectives said handguns, shotguns, Taser guns, bullet-proof vests and a police duty belt were stolen last week from an Ocoee police officer's home while he was on vacation.
Investigators said a dog sitter apparently got the group of men inside the officer's home.
"One of the suspects was taking care of the victim's dogs," Groveland police officer John Flynn said. "He was trusted by the family to do that and obviously his trust was violated."
The officer's dog sitter, Kevin Kenny, and Michael Orweller were arrested a short time after last week's robbery.
During questioning, Kenny and Orweller confessed that they burglarized the officer's home with two other men, Donald Wilkerson and Peter Heaton, police said.
Wilkerson and Heaton are still on the loose.
"Right now, I'm not sure where they are," Flynn said. "Possibly staying at friends houses or possibly in Orange County or somewhere else in Lake County."
Most of the stolen items have been returned to police, officials said.
"I was concerned that they might commit another crime with it, possibly a robbery or something of that sort," Flynn said. "But, we are lucky that did not happen."
