Applicants must be certified or certifiable by the Municipal Police Training Committee (www.mass. gov/mptc) as a Permanent Police Officer. Required to obtain & maintain MA License to Carry Firearms from resident community. AS degree required. Full Quinn Incentive. Base Salary Range: $36K - $48K

does that mean (certifiable) that you only have to have the ability to go through the acadamy or must be able to substitue another (ie out of state) in place???

It means you must already have an full time academy under your belt thats acceptable via MPTC standards. If you don't already have academy you are not "Certifiable".

No it means that you have the capabilities of being section 12'ed

Concord hired two new officers, one was a police officer on LAPD. Great department, should have a few more openings soon. You need a bachelor's degree and an academy though.

Well, they do advertise that as the minimum, but then select the ones with the other requirements.

It's a great place to work, they are just filling retirements and one officer is going to MSP.
