Just a reminder to all that are interested. November 28 is the last day to submit your applications to the personnel office at the town hall. The standard 100 question CPS test is December 3, 2005. You can download a application at www.hopkintonpd.org or pick one up a the town hall.
Any question regarding the department feel free to ask.

Any Idea What the PAT will consist of? As far as the Cooper Standards or more like the CS obstacle course?

Anybody get a follow-up letter for an interview? My score was up there and I haven't heard a thing.

You should receive a letter with your score if you haven't already. The interviews will "hopefully" start sometime after the new year. There is one Sgt., one Union member, and one member of the town personnel board. They will be doing all the interviews until the final interview with the chief. Good luck

The only physical test we have right now is the state PAT test. We are in the process of setting up physical fit standards through our contract but nothing is settled yet.

What is the detail availability like in Hopkinton? Is there fairly consistent availability?

Is overtime often available? Expected?

Posted by: HPD26

The details go in waves. Some weeks we can't keep up and others we end up going out of town. We are allowed to work out of town details. Seniority is how details and overtime are assigned. There are some protections for the junior guys so they don't get stuck with the crappy detail all the time. Currently our detail rate is $41.00 4 hr blocks.

That's not bad. . . so the opportunities to work as much as possible are there?

Posted by: HPD26

If you want to work its out there. No one on the dept. is going hungry, we all complain about not having enough details/OT but thats because as cops we need to bitch about something.
