Disregard any previous advice I have attempted to impart on you. You are doing great. Maybe you should commit some felonies, you know, just to get some experience. Nothing big, start with maybe, check kiting...that way you will be able to show all those corrections folks just how smart you really are. When they see what a brilliant criminal mind you have, they will probably take you on without sending you to an academy....
...or you could hope for a promotion to the drive-through by springtime.

Jeff, check a few PD websites. Some discuss their Auxiliary units. Most commonly they are non-sworn volunteers that assist the police department with patrols and traffic control. Some offer great training opportunities that can boost you to the next level, basically a stepping stone into LE. Do some research, if you still have questions be a little more specific.
