Main Page Leather Jackets

I just got a Vanson "Boston Police" leather jacket, and it has an inside gun pocket. This pocket on my jacket seems only to be a few inches deep. Anyone familiar with this jacket? Is this supposed to be like this or did I get a defunct one?

I have had a couple of jackets with the gun pocket. They are suppose to be very shallow, I believe it's to prevent the hammer of the weapon from catching in the fabric of a deep pocket. This is also why S&W invented the hammerless revolvers.

I have a Pittsburg style and I love it best jacket I ever got. A little pricey but it looks great and is very warm.
