BOSTON -- A teenage student and a school police officer are injured in a shooting near Charlestown High School in Boston.
Police spokeswoman Mariellen Burns says it happened about 500 feet from the school as classes were letting out for the day.
Police say the shooter, described as a young light-skinned male, fired two rounds.
One of the bullets struck a 15-year-old boy in the leg. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital. Police say the boy was an innocent passer-by and was not the intended victim.
The school police officer was treated on the scene after being grazed in the leg by a bullet fragment.
Police Captain Bernard O'Rourke says the suspect was seen fleeing toward Medford.
No arrests have been made. (AP)

It was really crazy over hear in Charlsetown. I was just making my way into work at 2:00pm when our department heard the call. At first we heard there was multiple victims and figured it was another Columbine High incident. Then we heard a police officer had been shot. The whole Charlestown had police cruisers everywhere. All bus stops and train stations were check for a suspect described as a light skin male wearing a light blue shit. There was also later report at about 5:00pm of two other Charlsetown students carrying a gun on the football field accross Charlsetown High. Thank God the Boston School police officer only sustained a scratch. He may have been the intended target. After the suspect fired the shots he ran into the Bunker Hill Projects.
Hey Thermois did your department hear the incident?

I hope he is ready to sue every tom, dick and harry.... administrators need to realize its not them (the people who make the decisions to not carry firearms) that are going to get shot. Let them be held accountable!
