Below are listings of current vacancies with a brief description of the duties involved. Any employee interested in a posted opening is encouraged to contact the Human Resources Office for more information about the position and an evaluation of his/her qualifications for the position. After this discussion, if the employee wishes to be formally considered for the position, the Human Resources Office will refer the application for consideration. When and if serious consideration is being given the employee, the employee should notify his or her supervisor of the possibility of a transfer.




CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER – CAMPUS POLICE GRADE 17

(12 Month Position, 40 Hours per Week)



Position will be responsible for patrolling the campus facilities and properties, and providing protection and service to ensure a safe and secure environment for faculty, staff, students and visitors. The Campus Police Department is a service intensive, community policing agency.



Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a related field with 3-5 years demonstrated experience in a public safety or police agency or, in lieu of a degree, 5-7 years experience in a public safety or police agency; graduate of an accredited campus/full-time police academy; ability to be warranted as a Special State Police Officer; valid Massachusetts License to Carry a Firearm; CPR/First Responder certified; valid driver’s license; and possess a demonstrated knowledge of campus and community policing practices. If candidate does not meet these qualifications, may be considered for a Campus Patrol Officer position. Candidate must be a graduate of the MCJTC Reserve Intermittent Academy and be able to meet the physical and medical entry standards set by the Massachusetts State Police Academy for special state police officers. Upon fulfillment of above qualifications, completion of required training and satisfactory completion of probationary period, candidate may be considered for advancement. Candidate must be able to work evening and overnight shifts, including weekend and holidays, to meet departmental needs.
