Full and Part Time Partol Officers Wanted

Full-Time Officer:

The Aquinnah Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill the position of full-time patrol officer. Applicants must have already graduated from Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council (MCJTC) certified recruit police academy. Minimum qualifications are as follows: currently certified as a First Responder, currently certified in CPR, must have or be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts drivers license and Class A LTC. Must have a high school diploma, be at least 21 years of age and be a U.S. citizen.

The Aquinnah Police Department has recently entered into to a new contract this year. Benefits include but are not limited to vacation time, sick time, holiday pay, longevity, personal days, EMT stipend, college degree stipend, continuing education incentives ect. The starting pay rate for full time patrol officer in FY06 is $38,937.60 plus apx. $5,000.00yr for "on-call" overnights.

Reserve/Special Officer:

The Aquinnah Police Department is currently accepting applications for year round Special Police Officers. Applicants must have completed a Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MPTC/MCJTC) 180 hour Reserve Police Officer Training Course. Minimum qualifications are as follows: currently certified as a First Responder, currently certified in CPR, must have or be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts drivers license and Class A LTC. Must have a high school diploma, be at least 21 years of age and be a U.S. citizen.
