Baby girl found alone at Milford gas station MILFORD - Police found a baby girl alone Friday morning locked inside a Sunoco gas station on East Main Street. They went to the gas station after receiving a call from a customer. The station's owner, Muithi Tran, told police she cannot afford to pay for child-care, according to a police report. A station employee told police this has happened between 10 and 20 times before, the report says. Police contacted the state Department of Social Services. Charges sought against Hopedale man in crash MILFORD - Police applied for a summons yesterday morning for a Hopedale man, after he was involved in a one-car accident on East Main Street. Police are seeking charges against William F. Pessoti, 24, of 200 West St., of one count each of speeding, unlicensed operations of a motor vehicle and a marked-lanes violation. Pessoti told police he lost control of his car about 3 a.m. while driving home from a friend's house, according to a police report. He was taken by a friend to Milford Regional Medical Center and left his car, which had rolled onto its roof, according to the report.
Boy charged with unarmed robbery in Bellingham BELLINGHAM - Police charged a male juvenile Friday evening with one count of unarmed robbery following an incident near the Chili's restaurant on Hartford Avenue. Police could not provide more information yesterday. The boy was not identified because of his age.
