Description:

BACKGROUND QUESTIONNAIRE MUST BE INCLUDED WITH APPLICATION. PLEASE SEE THE SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS SECTION BY CLICKING ON THE JOB POSTING. This is general duty police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. This position requires working shifts to include working evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to pass police testing.
Must meet AZPOST pre-employment drug use standards.
Upon employment, must have the ability to complete and graduate from an approved academy.
Must live within a 15-mile radius of downtown Flagstaff (within three months of hire).
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver's license.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Desire some college level coursework, preferably related to police work.

Notice of Police Officer Written Exam: A written exam has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 3, 2005. To be eligible to test you must:
Complete an application and Police Officer Background Questionnaire (unless already submitted).
You may download the questionnaire by going to Related Documents below..

The questionnaire must be notarized and returned to Human Resources on or before July 25, 2005

Call Kris in the Human Resources office at 928-779-7685, ext. 7298 or 1-800-463-1389 prior to 4 pm on Monday, July 25, 2005, to confirm your attendance at the written exam.

Report for testing on Wednesday, August 3 at 8 a.m. at 911 Sawmill Road, Flagstaff, AZ (Sawmill Road can be accessed from Butler Avenue or Lone Tree Road). Late arrivals will not be permitted to test.

Applicants who pass the written exam with a score of 75% or higher will be invited to take the physical agility test at 11 a.m. on August 3.
For out-of-state and distant in-state applicants, oral boards will be scheduled on the same day at 1:30 p.m. or later, or the next day (August 4).

Flagstaff applicants who pass the written exam with a score of 75% or higher will be scheduled within approximately two weeks by the Police Department to take their oral board, providing they passed the physical agility test.
