Department POLICE DEPARTMENT
Position POLICE OFFICER I
Salary $37,099-48,306/YR.
Reference # PLD-4-2314
Duties
Performs general police work in the protection of life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Examples of work include: patrolling designated areas of the City; answering calls and complaints involving fires, automobile accidents, disturbances, domestic disputes, and various other misdemeanors and felonies; securing and processing crime scenes, conducting preliminary investigations, gathering evidence, obtaining witness statements, and making arrests; maintaining evidence and other property; preparing reports and maintaining records; and performing related work as required.
Minimum Requirements
One year experience involving public contact under varying circumstances; and possession of a high school diploma or GED. Additional Requirements: Employees must possess a valid driver?s license issued by the state of their residence. Candidates for this class are required to meet minimum age and medical standards. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills.

The selection process for this Police Officer I Eligibility List includes: Mandatory Orientation Psychological Examination Written Examination Staff Review Panel Interview Police Chief\'s Interview Background Investigation Medical Examination (includes Polygraph Examination)
