MARSHFIELD —
A man robbed the Ocean Bluff Services gas station Thursday night.
Police say a white man in his 20s entered the Ocean Street gas station around 9 p.m., produced a knife or tool, and demanded money. He left on foot with a substantial amount of money, they said.
Ocean Bluff Services manager Tony Sayde said a man entered the gas station and asked for a cigarette. When the attendant asked for his ID, the man reached into his pocket and pulled out an ice pick and said, “Give me the money.” He said he believes the man got at least $1,000.
“So we had no other choice. He gave him the money,” Sayde said. “The guy who was working is fine, he didn’t get hurt, which is the most important part of the story.”
Police searched the area with a dog from the Duxbury Police Department, but did not find the robber. Police are reviewing evidence retrieved at the scene, they said.
Police say the robber had a medium build and was wearing an olive-colored hooded sweatshirt.
