MANCHESTER, Conn. -- Manchester police said they had to arrest a Hartford man after he called the department and threatened to kill them all if his legal action regarding a prior arrest doesn’t succeed.
"These didn't appear to be heat-of-the-moment-type threats, and he's actually calling up well after the fact of the incident, which happened many months ago,” said police Sgt. Chris Davis. “And he's taken it upon himself to call on recorded lines and make threats versus the lives of our officers. We take that extremely seriously."
In court Friday, the public defender said Matthew Wood was off his proper medication, a possible explanation for his actions and a reason to reduce his bond to $10,000. The judge decided to keep it at $100,000.
