An Ipswich man surrendered at the state police Middleboro barracks after spotting a photo of himself on the law enforcement site, massmostwanted.org, robbing a Brockton bank.
Lt. John Crowley, chief of Brockton detectives, said the suspect called his brother after seeing the photo to say “he was in a world of trouble.”
The suspect’s brother convinced him to turn himself in and the two drove to the Middleboro barracks last week.
But once they got there, the suspect was reluctant to get out of his brother’s car at first.
After some coaxing, the suspect got out and was placed under arrest, Crowley said.
State police then checked the Web site, verified the image and called Brockton police.
Jeffrey Tessier, 38, of Post Road, Ipswich, was arrested on a warrant issued from Wareham District Court and is being charged in the bank robbery.
The suspect is accused of robbing the Webster bank, 220 Oak St., on June 3.
