Molly Bish vanished from her lifeguard post in Warren in 2000.

WARREN (WBZ) ― It has been eight years since Warren teenager Molly Bish vanished from her lifeguard post at Comins Pond. While her remains were found three years later, nobody has ever been charged with her murder.

In the last year, investigators tell WBZ they have received about 100 new tips. According to the Worcester County District Attorney's office, there are several new "persons of interest" who investigators would now like to speak with, though they did not name those people.

Molly, a 16 year old lifeguard, disappeared on June 27, 2000. Her missing person's case turned into a murder investigation three years later, when her remains were found in the woods near the Warren-Palmer line.

Friday, the Bish family will mark the 8th anniversary of her disappearance. The ceremony will begin with a 6 p.m. prayer service at Comins Pond, followed by a 7 p.m. vigil on the Warren Town Common.

Molly's father, John Bish, is expected to be at this year's vigil. Just days before last year's service, he suffered a massive stroke and was hospitalized for three months.

Nobody was ever charged in Molly's disappearance or death, and a grand jury investigating the case was dismissed in December 2006 without handing up an indictment.

I can't believe that was 8 years ago now. It feels like yesterday.

Family Marks 8th Year Of Teen's Disappearance

16-Year-Old Found Dead

BOSTON -- It was eight years ago Friday that Warren teenager Molly Bish disappeared from her summer lifeguard job.

NewsCenter 5's Pam Cross reported that her family has lived a nightmare, not knowing who killed the popular teen. Molly was last seen getting ready to lifeguard at Comins Pond. She had arrived just before the beach opened for swimming.

"There is no end to this story. Someone took Molly that day. We don't know who. We don't know why," said Molly's mother, Magi Bish.

Three years after her disappearance, the 16-year-old's remains were discovered. Her parents have spent years making appearances at the Statehouse.

They've conducted dozens of stranger awareness workshops for parents and children.

"We teach this stuff, and it is very hard to protect them because they are so trusting," said Molly's father, John Bish.

Last year, John Bish couldn't talk. He suffered cancer and then a major stroke. Today he's improving, but the desire for answers remains strong.

"It will never bring her back for us. We know that," Magi Bish said. "It's the reality we live with everyday, but this person has changed our lives. He owes us a debt to us and the community."

The Bish family said that they are sustained by friends and family.

"We're having 25 yellow roses because she'll be 25 soon, and I'm thinking how would Molly be at 25?" Magi Bish said.

Friends will join the Bish family Friday night to pray for the safety of all children and to renew their pledge to find justice for Molly.

Since last June, investigators have received about 100 tips in the Bish case. Detectives are seeking information from two persons of interest that they haven't met with in the past.
