HUDSON —
An early morning drunken driving accident led to the arrests of three area residents yesterday after the driver and passenger fled the scene, and the passenger, with the help of a third person, later broke into a car on Pearl Street, police said.
At about 2 a.m., police responded to a single-car accident at the intersection of Grove Street and Forest Avenue. The driver, Dominik Warchol, 24, of 177 South St., Northborough, lost control of his car and crashed through a stone wall, said Police Chief Richard Braga.
Witnesses told police they saw two men running from the accident. Police later found Warchol hiding in the backyard of a Broad Street home, said Braga.
Braga said Warchol smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking during the night. Police found three pills, two hydrocodone and one antibiotic, on Warchol while arresting him. He would not name his passenger, but did say the passenger was not injured, according to court records.
About a half hour after the accident, a Pearl Street resident reported a man and woman broke into her car and stole several items. Police arrived and found Shannon Piscillo, 17, of 75 South St., Shrewsbury, and Jeffrey Fleet, 19, of 14 Houghton St., Hudson, whom police believe to be Warchol's passenger, near the site of the break-in, said Braga.
Piscillo told officers that she and Fleet were looking for her stolen purse. Police then noticed several fresh lacerations on Fleet's hands and ankles, which Fleet said he suffered while skateboarding earlier in the day, according to court records.
After searching the area, police recovered numerous CDs, a CD holder, a pair of sunglasses and two pairs of wireless headphones near to where Piscillo and Fleet were standing when police arrived, said Braga.
Police arrested Piscillo and Fleet, charging them with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony and larceny more than $250.
Warchol is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, being in possession of a prescription medication, driving with a suspended license, failing to stop for police and violating marked lanes.
All three were arraigned in Marlborough District Court yesterday and were released on personal recognizance.
Fleet and Piscillo are due back in court July 9 for a pretrial hearing; Warchol's pretrial hearing is scheduled for July 28.
Piscillo filed a report for her stolen pocketbook, according to court records.
