A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was injured when a car rear-ended his cruiser on Interstate 45 in The Woodlands early today.
Trooper Kenneth Balzekas was undergoing treatment for neck and back injuries at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands, the DPS said.
Balzekas was in his parked cruiser on the shoulder of I-45 northbound when a vehicle that was being driven erratically plowed into the cruiser about 12:50 a.m., the DPS said. The cruiser's police lights were on.
The driver of the other vehicle, Richard Juan, 26, of Conroe also was treated for neck and back injuries, DPS said.
