Driver cited after Hopedale crash
HOPEDALE - Police cited an Uxbridge teenager Wednesday for following a car too closely after an accident at the intersection of Rte. 16 and Hopedale Street.
The accident, which happened about 7:50 a.m., sent Deborah Bonavita, 50, of 61 East St., Uxbridge, to Milford Regional Medical Center with head and arm pain. She was later released. Her unidentified 14-year-old son, also in the car, was not hurt, police said.
The teenager cited by police, Alec Pedranti, 17, of 406 Douglas St., Uxbridge, was uninjured. Police said he was driving behind Bonavita and did not realize she had stopped to make a left turn onto Hopedale Street.
Bonavita's car sustained heavy left rear damage and was towed, while Pedranti's had moderate front and side damage but was not towed.

Milford man faces charges of vandalizing cemetery
MILFORD - Police applied for a summons Wednesday for a 68-year-old Milford man after a report of vandalism at Vernon Grove Cemetery, police said.
Daniel R. Boone, of 53 1/2 Grove St., will be charged with vandalizing a cemetery, police said.

Teen charged with being a runaway
MILFORD - A 16-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday and charged with being a runaway, police said.
The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested about 8:30 p.m. on Plain Street, police said.
He was reported missing from his foster home, police said.

Milford man charged with assault
MILFORD - A 24-year-old Milford man was arrested Wednesday and charged with domestic assault and battery, police said.
Messias Desouza, of 79 East Main St., was arrested at 11:18 p.m. on East Main Street after a report of an assault, police said.
