A police standoff is over after three people fired shots at a California Highway Patrol officer.
The incident happened near Dillon Road and Palm Drive, just south of the Desert Hot Springs city limits.
This is the third officer-involved shooting in a week in the Desert Hot Springs area.
It started at 6:00 Sunday night.
A CHP officer tried to pull over a stolen car when the suspects opened fire.
Two suspects ran away from the car and barricaded themselves inside a house on Via El Rancho.
A third suspect was shot by an officer, and taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.
Police surrounded the home, and with the help of a robot, a SWAT team entered the house around 1am.
Police found the two suspects inside, and at least one of them was shot. That suspect was also taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.
According to his family, that person may be the same man police were looking for in connection with last Friday night's shooting.
Members of his family told us that Anthony Paez, 18, was one of the suspects inside the house, and may have been shot when the SWAT team entered.
Details on the condition of the three suspects are not yet available.
According to a spokesperson for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, "we are going to be out here still probably for several hours collecting evidence and processing the scene and continuing with the investigtion."
