OAKWOOD, Ohio -- Police said a suspected drunken driver slammed through barrels in a construction zone and hit an officer's cruiser. The crash occurred on Interstate 271 in Oakwood early Friday morning. The officer was taken to Hillcrest Hospital and was treated for face lacerations. The suspect was taken to Bedford Hospital. There is no word on his condition. Investigators said there was no evidence that the suspect, who is from Chicago, attempted to apply the brakes.
