A 45-year-old man was injured when he tried to stop a motor vehicle, whose driver snatched money right out of his hand, police said.
Augustino Mello of 155 Glasgow St. was treated at St. Anne’s Hospital for minor injuries to his legs and buttocks after the incident Thursday about 11:15 p.m.
Officer Rory McCoomb stated in his report that Mello was walking east on Glasgow Street, counting money, when a vehicle pulled alongside him and the operator “ripped the money out of his hand.”
McCoomb said Mello held onto the vehicle as it drove away, and was dragged for about 30 feet before falling to the ground.
