TILTON – Two women have been accused of using a toy gun in two robberies at the Smoke 'N Barley store, Route 3.
Janell R. DuBreuil, 21, of 33 High Ridge Road, Hill, and Chelsea A. O'Connell, 21, of 124 Concord St., Belmont, are free on $30,000 bail. They were arraigned in Franklin District Court Tuesday.
DuBreuil is charged with robbery and criminal liability for conduct of another, and O'Connell is charged with robbery, criminal liability for the conduct of another and unsworn falsification, for allegedly lying to police about her role in the robberies.
Police said DuBreuil committed the first robbery, on March 3, and O'Connell drove the getaway car. O'Connell is charged with a March 6 robbery at the same store, and police said that DuBreuil drove the getaway car.
Affidavits by Tilton Police detectives Matthew Dawson and Michael Farrington indicate that the women wore the same dark hooded sweatshirt and torn jeans in both robberies and that the clothing was found at DuBreuil's home during a court-authorized search Monday.
According to the affidavit, DuBreuil admitted that she committed the first robbery and drove the getaway car for the second.
Probable cause hearings for both suspects are scheduled for June 2 in Franklin District Court.
