Police are continuing to investigate an apparent carjacking that occurred after Fall River police chased a vehicle into this town Thursday night.
No information was available from Fall River or Somerset police, but police scanner transmissions indicated what generally occurred.
Police with the Fall River Housing Unit pursued a blue PT Cruiser on westbound Interstate 195 over the Braga Bridge about 7 p.m. after an officer recognized a male occupant of the car as being wanted on armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon charges.
The suspect vehicle took the exit to Wilbur Avenue east and continued to the Holiday Lanes on Riverside Avenue where the occupants bailed out of the vehicle.
Somerset police apprehended a female suspect, who may have been the driver of the PT Cruiser.
The male suspect then apparently carjacked a white Toyota Echo from Summerfield Avenue and headed back to Fall River via the Brightman Street Bridge.
A chase resumed on southbound Route 79 and the carjacked vehicle was last believed traveling east on Interstate 195.
Police said no weapons were used in the carjacking and there were no indications of anyone being injured, but the still sought male suspect was believed to be armed with a knife.
State police assisted Fall River and Somerset police during the incidents.
