LOUISVILLE, Ky. --

A Metro Police homicide detective has become the first officer disciplined in connection with an investigation into the use of pornographic materials on government computers.
On Tuesday, Metro Police released a report showing Detective Timothy Hightower violated department procedure for sending pornographic materials through the department's e-mail system.
Chief Robert White issued a written reprimand for the violation.
In 2005, the department suspended Hightower for 20 days after he was arrested by a sheriff's deputy for driving under the influence.
Hightower also has more than two dozen letters of appreciation over his 28-year career.
We first told you about this pornography investigation last week. Police would only confirm it, but multiple sources tell NewsChannel 32 it involves several officers and at least one of them is high-ranking.
Those sources say the professional standards unit is looking at e-mails sent to and from MDTs, or mobile data terminals.
