This is UNBELIEVABLE. I have a family member who attends this school. They are NOT a campus police department. It is a private security company called Securitas. They have NO police powers and are some of the biggest yahoos you will ever see. It really borders on impersonating a police officer. They should be investigated by the Boston PD. They threaten to "lock you up" when they have no power to do so. A law suit waiting to happen. The "chief" does not allow the guys to ware securitas uniforms and gives them shirts and badges that say"public safety" If you apply for this job ask the "chief" who you will be working for?(securitas) also ask if they have police powers. If he says yes then report it here and lets see if we can get someone on here who could investigate.

Yikes did that family member have a bad run in with them or something? Everything I have heard about their chief has been nothing but rave reviews. I also have heard they are "going in house" ditching securitas.

Per chance, have you read ALL the recent threads here concerning this school? Especially the one about transitioning from contract "yahoo" security to an actual campus police department? Does it not make sense to gather a pool of qualified applicants from which to choose once the transition happens?

I'm probably one of the few people here who remember when Wentworth Institute had contract security (Wells Fargo) before forming their own campus PD.

You may be one of the few, but you ain't the only one. Back then, it drove me nuts that they had a cruiser with blue lights that said CAMPUS POLICE but worked for Wells Fargo. Most weren't bad guys over all. One guy I'm still good friends with and another stayed on at Wentworth to become a sgt., then went to Emerson to become Asst. Director of Public Safety (mentioned in an earler thread) then left for Maryland.

Personally, In-House is the best way to go and I'm glad that MCPAHS is going that route, but I will not dump on contract guys BECAUSE they're contract guys.

excess, your facts are a little fuzzy and the majority of us know it, but that's ok, we all make mistakes. Go with God.

IT IS NOT UNBELIEVABLE!!!! ITS GOOD AND GOOD FOR THEM! YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!

Honestly, I have heard the Chief over there is squared away. They are dumping the private sector and moving to becoming a Campus Police Department. I spoke to a Captain overthere and he told me that they are creating a Campus Police Department and that they will be SSPO and Deputy Sheriff for powers. They are looking to arm the Police personel down the road but they are focusing on getting good candidates for the Police positions and getting things in order. I think it is great and every other college out there with private security should do the transition especially this day and age.

As a Masscops Chief investigator, I can tell you that we have more important things in our division than to let a cynical and subjective gas-passer like you, task us to support your fantasies!

Hook a hose up to his ass and feed him LOTS of spicy foods and you could save lots of $$$$!

Then again, that would work with me also.

Excess is an abscess!

In any event, Victor is simply a Joy to know, work with, and eat out with!
He would hire me in a snap for this position, but I'm gonna let it go because I'm holding out to go spoon with Troy instead!

Aww!

Figures! You always like to suck up to the brass!

In any event Good luck again to Victor and the kids!

Posted by: Badge 17

Are you the big spoon or the little spoon?

Posted by: Kilvinsky

Spooning is fun, but FORKING is so much better! You just gotta be careful where you put your tine.

Then again, how sad is it that so many people in this day and age prefer knifing?

Posted by: Badge 17

You always have a way to bring a new perspective to the table!

What about sporking??

Posted by: mpd61

Victor just gave the job away to his second choice! ( I was his third)
I was going to decline it anyway...

Posted by: Badge 2

Where is the love??

Posted by: Kilvinsky

The love is in the spooning, forking and sporking!

Yeah, I admit it, I love the smiley faces.

Hey Jim!

I always wanted to work at Dana Hall, But I heard Hanscom will be hiring in the future (2013). Do you think I should hold out for the federal position, or go with Russell's Raiders!?

Posted by: Kilvinsky

Dana Hall does have a higher ration of cute girls, but since most, pretty much ALL of them are cute as in, Oh what a CUTE LITTLE girl, that sort of rules that out. Hold out, big jets are more fun and give less risk of complaints!

Posted by: Badge 2

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate recruiting!

Posted by: Kilvinsky

Sorry Chief, but that aspect comes with the job. So tell us, what was the ratio of good candidates to wing-nuts who can barely spell their own names without several seconds to think about it.

I can't spell, but my name, I can do that in less than 12 seconds! Hee hee huh?

Nah, on second thought, maybe you shouldn't tell us. I don't want to see any feelings hurt.

Say, what ever happened to excess? He seems to have evaporated.

Posted by: Badge 2

Yeah imagine that! I have a pretty good idea who it was, It's kind of funny as you know I have posted positions on here a few times and never had a problem. I guess its just kind of funny timing I just removed someone and all of a sudden puff..

The canidates have been pretty good, other then I had one guy excepted a position then just called me after a couple of weeks and say sorry can't do it after all.

Posted by: Badge 17

Vic,
I think we need to get you spell check buddy. I'll drop one by one day next week.

Posted by: Badge 2

Young Skywalker, I have 2 words for you and I am sure I will spell them right.
