Hey all,

The U.S. Border Patrol has listed open announcements for the Northern Border. These areas include: VT, NY, NH, and ME. After attending FLETC, post academy training would take place for 15 months, somewhere on the southern border, and then you would head back north. The link to USAJobs...

You will not be stationed anywhere near MA or NE after you complete the academy. You will be stationed in either NM, lower CA, TX. Thats it. After about 5 years you may be able to transfer to a different duty station. Just keep that in mind if you apply.

There is a new "Northern Border Announcement" in which you will EOD at your northern border station then go to the academy. After the academy, you will be immediatley detailed to a southern border station for up to 15 months, and then you will be sent back to your station on the northern border.

Interesting, I have a friend who recently took the test in upstate NY and ended up in NM. He had more connections than most in the BP since his father was a GS12.

just goes to show you no one is special, everyone does their time on the southern border. Although he may be transferred sooner than most

His Background Investigation was a joke. His hiring was "expedited" lets just say. I can guarantee you he will get a new england border station when his probationary period is up.
