Anyone who recently graduated the DOC academy care to post what a typical day from start to end is like in the DOC.

Do they run you in the morning and how many miles a day?

Thanx

I"ve heard that even though they knocked the PAT entrance requirements down, that they still kick your ass, with running, push-ups, and sit-ups in the academy....

If you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.....

Start running....

Still waiting for a letter for the next academy.. i heard rumors of it being postponed.. any truth?? If not any idea when i should expect a letter and date to report for training?

Posted by: CodeBlue1970

I heard first hand June 2, 2008 for the academy..

Posted by: Foxy85

That academy is for the Sept. test takers though....

Another one will be later this year for the March test...

Has anyone recieved a letter for the next academy? I was a Sept. test taker and I haven't got anything.

I am a Sept. test taker as well and I still haven't heard anything yet either.

Based on some of the previous threads from the last academy, it looks like people had started to get their calls/letters just starting a little over 2 weeks before, and with as little time as a week before the academy... That being said, if it is a June 2nd start date, maybe we'll start hearing the end of this week, or the beginning of next???

I'll post if I hear anything...

Posted by: Foxy85

Not to be nosey, but if you haven't heard anything new yet, then i'm wondering whats wrong?

what was your score?

Did you already go through background and interview?

Keep your fingers crossed....

Posted by: CodeBlue1970

Goodluck to everyone!!

Anyone get any info on where to park on June 2 and do you think it is best to hand carry everything on the list or put it in a bag since the instruction didnt state anythin?

Posted by: Yelleboski

good question with the bag......im not really sure either....anyone have any suggestions

Posted by: TopCop24

First word of advise to everyone going into the academy...stay off of this board or the DIs will find you. Trust me from experience

Posted by: Wetherdad

show up early, parking will be a bitch, do not use a bag, carry everything, make sure you have your propel water bottle, 2 black BIC pens, a notebook and a small pocket notebook. be sure to have ur lunch with you, be sure to lock ur car and bring your keys with you. be sure to not have any cuff keys, or small leatherman like tools on ur key ring....don't leave anything with personal information on ur car seats....the DI's will come out with whistles and yell and scream when it is time, be ready to run and be ready, they will try to rattle u, and anyone who has been in the military, try not to laugh at the kids who have no clue, step up and be a leader.

Make no mistake about it. DI Andrade. Nuff Said.

LoL, why ruin the experience for them....And as far as laughing goes...everyone pops their cherry at one time or another.....Whether is be in the military or DOC, or police....Its a good time.... Have fun with the academy...It'll be a good time...

Has anyone heard any news lately on the next academy? I heard that the current academy is graduating on the 7th of August. Maybe that means that the March 22nd test takers will get in soon after, im not sure though. Im ready to go, hopefully the ball gets rolling here soon.
