Other Requirements: Candidates must be US Citizens between 18 and 65 years of age (applicant must be 19 years of age before State Certification to work as a Police Officer). Must have a High School Diploma or acceptable equivalency diploma (USAFI not accepted). Weight must be proportional to height. Corrected visual acuity at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other. MUST HAVE A VALID FLORIDA DRIVER'S LICENSE and an acceptable driving record, if employed.
Candidates must possess a current valid Florida Law Enforcement Certification/Completion of the minimum standards as set forth by the State of Florida Commission on Criminal Justice Standards and Training to be employed. Certificates of Completion may be obtained through most Florida Community Colleges.
EXAMINATION PROCESS:
Written Test: Candidates must take and pass the written aptitude examination.
Interview: Candidates are interviewed as openings occur.
Medical Examination: Candidates are given a thorough physical examination.
Polygraph and Psychological Test.

Wage Range - $33,628.68 - 56,956.80
Personal Leave Accrual - 192 hours per year
Holidays - 9 paid holidays per year, plus birthday & Employee Appreciation Day
Pension - 3.38% multiplier (20 year retirement) Military buyback/previous LEO (4 years max)
