Hot stuff: Some of the women in Red Sox Nation have posted sexy photos of themselves on a new Web site sexySOXgirls.com.

Call it Red Sox [team stats] Girls Gone Wild!
A new Web site, sexySOXgirls.com, invites the women of Red Sox Nation to post playful soft-porn photos of themselves in Sox hats, shirts and other strategically placed paraphernalia.
The point: to get the public to rate candidates on a scale of five red socks - one sock being “hot,” five socks being “hottest.”
SexySOXgirls must be 18 and older and “nude” pictures aren’t accepted, but little else is left to the imagination. Applicants are required to fill out a profile naming their favorite Sox player, which beaches and bars they frequent and why they think they’re sexy.
The site’s sponsor, ticket broker Fenway-Tix.com, did not respond to a request for comment.
But the site is not shy about its lofty standards, warning contestants, “If we decide not much effort was put forth, your profile will not be approved.”
As of yesterday, none of the nominees who’ve submitted pix and profiles had scored a perfect five.
But buxom “Amanda” of Lowell - a 26-year-old “nurse by day and a crazy redsox(sic) fan by night” - came close, getting four socks for a shot that showed off her cleavage.
Busty blond bombshell “Gina” of Nottingham, N.H., came up just short of a perfect score, getting a site-high 4 socks.
What makes her sexier than the competition?
“I’m probably the only one that is a grandmother,” her online profile boasts.

Not that I would join...but I checked out their "submission form," which you have to "put effort into..." If you don't drink or go to the beach (like me) you can't make it on the website...that's pretty ghey. Oh wait...the entire website is pretty ghey...!

If the Red Sox averaged 62-100 the last few years, about 99.9% of those women couldn't name one member of the starting rotation.

As it stands right now, 100% of them couldn't explain the infield fly rule.

This happened in the early 80's and fits right along these lines.
I was working the mid shift desk and it was extremely quiet. Everyone was still using the old "teletype" machines and computers were few and far between, but a few departments had recently gotten them and we were told to test them out. A good friend of mine worked in the neighboring department, and was also on the desk. We were bantering back and forth about basically nothing, and what we were going to do when we got off shift. Like I said, CJIS/LEAPS requested that we get used to the machines, as they were not fully online yet, and we had just gotten the new station codes and whatnot. So, being the newbie and smart ass, I sent her a message requesting that their should be a contest between police departments, and it should involve their female officers and dispatchers wearing bikinis made out of only their uniform patches. I sent it off and thought nothing of it. She replied that it sounded like a good idea, and again, the banter started. Suddenly, the printer started going bananas, and I was getting messages from all over the country, also stating that it was a great idea, and whom should the photos be sent too! I started going into a panic. This went on for hours. I called her on the phone and we were trying to figure out what happened. We finally realized that her station code and a nationwide NLETS code were only 1 digit off. Guess what? I messed up. That message went nationwide. The next 24 hrs, we were getting teletype messages, computer printouts and whatnot from all over the counry, wanting to enter the contest, or complaining about misuse of the computers, and everything in between. I felt like Lucy Ricardo,"I had a lot of s'plainin to do!"
Eventually, it got all straightened out, as it was not officially online yet, but it was a tense few days. We still laugh about it whenever we meet up. There are still a few old-timers out there who remember this and give me a shot now and then. Imagine the BS if that happened now? I can't imagine. But, it was funny.....

Damn you are right Delta..It gets annoying..They will say they live and die for the sox..If they can start naming me people from the losing teams (sans buckner) over the years then I will call them true fans..If the sox start going downhill I suspect some of these fans will fade..

...and I bet they have tickets to games when us true fans have to jump through hoops. I miss the good ol days of walking up to the ticket booth and just getting tickets for almost any game you wanted to go to.

I wouldn't mind about 3-4 years of bad or mediocre Red Sox teams so the pink hat crowd will lose interest and go away for awhile. Then I might be able to afford to take my son to more than one game per season.
