MONEY IN THE BANK: Next time you look at Lt. Gov. Tim Murray's campaign financial reports, remember that he has a few more bucks than you're seeing at first glance. In his latest filing, Murray transferred $200,000 of his ever-growing fund to a Certificate of Deposit. The transfer allows a substantial amount of Murray's money to grow with interest; it also means that the 200K won't show up as quickly on the balance line of future filings. It's a savings tactic that is generally reserved for huge accounts — Sheriff Guy Glodis has made similar moves over the past couple of years.
• GLODIS GOLD: For example, Guy Glodis's most recent filing for the second half of February shows that he brought in $36,225 over the two-week period, ending the month with a $151,464.17 balance. However, his year-end report for 2007 shows that he has more than $350,000 in savings that don't show up on his month-to-month ledger balance. The total Glodis balance at the end of 2007 was $539,986.64 to Murray's $311,853.04 at the same point. However, Murray spent $316,773.42 to Glodis's $62,630.99 over the year.

Wow, good to see he took the politics out of the WCSO!!!

Ah the old shell game. Remember though he's a politician at heart. So he's a liar and a cheat. Some say that this stint on the hill is just a stepping stone for his next move.

I'm waiting for Diane Williamson to write about the three WCSO recruits who were recently arrested for smoking pot in a limo in Millville or the WCSO with 19 years experience and was working with the Worcester PD gang unit went overboard and forced into retirement. Same place - same corruption. Bring back Mike Flynn!!!!!!

By the way, I'm glad you left that office job and got back to doing real police work there PBC FL COP. A little different than Paxton huh?

Seems to be the way for so many of the Mass Sheriffs. Why are so many of them allowed to get away with the things they do?
Its not just the dirty politics, its the lying and cover-ups.

The only answer I can think of is that, there is really no one, or any agency state wide to over see thier actions. Who do they answer to?

Abuse of power is a terrible thing.

I've never met Guy but I know first hand things are not great up on the hill. Those who supported Glodis expected changes that never happened. At least Mike Flynn was a devil you knew.

• A POT OF GLOD: It's beginning to sound redundant, but no one in the area is raising money at the same rate as the High Sheriff, Guy Glodis. No one. Since ending 2007 with $539,986.64 in the bank, he has raised $56,085 and spent $7,583.19, leaving him with $588,488.45 in his war chest. That's a ridiculous amount of money for anyone, unless they're contemplating a statewide run. Compare his take to State Auditor Joseph DeNucci, who holds one of the seats Glodis is rumored to be interested in. DeNucci, by his most recent filings, has access to $367,230.99.

Wow, how many promotions and jobs can one Guy sell???
