PEMBROKE —
Police charged a Halifax man with his second drunken driving offense after he hit a car while traveling on a motorcycle on Water Street.
Police said Brian Callahan, 54, of 48 Madison Road, Halifax, crossed over the center line on Water Street and collided with a car going in the opposite direction on Sunday. Then he continued down the street, they said.
The driver of the car, who called the police, saw Callahan continue down Water Street and onto Route 53. Officers found the driver on his motorcycle on Center Street at Erickson’s Lane, they said.
Police found that Callahan had been drinking and gave him a field sobriety test, which he failed, police said. Police charged Callahan with his second offense of operating under the influence of liquor. He was also charged with a marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
