A white Toyota Sonata was damaged by the black Nissan being driven by the suspect. A police cruiser stopped behind the Nissan to prevent it from backing up and taking off again. The suspect continued to reverse and attempted to get by the police cruiser before being forced out of the driver's seat by police.

QUINCY —
A police chase that started near South Shore Plaza in Braintree ended in North Quincy, when the driver being pursued crashed a stolen car into another vehicle, backed into a police cruiser, then resisted arrest.
Quincy police arrested Anthony Travis, 40, of East Boston, and charged him with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon (a car), failure to stop, resisting arrest and multiple motor vehicle charges.
Braintree police began pursuing a black Nissan XTerra, which Travis allegedly stole, before losing track of him around Independence Avenue. Undercover detectives in Quincy saw Travis driving erratically through Quincy Center, and Quincy police picked up the chase.
Witnesses said they saw the SUV race by and hit a vehicle parked outside the H&R Block on Elm Ave. and Hancock St., near the Wollaston Medical Association.
Guy Bognanno, who works at Tanline Tanning Salon at 1 Elm Ave., said cars parted as Travis' car rolled through the area, followed by police.
"The guy refused to shut the car off, he kept trying to run over the cop car behind him," Bognanno said.
Police drew their guns and yelled at Travis to exit the vehicle, said Bognanno. Police eventually detained him after subduing him with pepper spray, said Quincy police Capt. Paul Keenan.
No officers were injured, though Travis was taken to Quincy Medical Center with minor injuries, according to Keenan.
