A MAN with HIV will be sentenced today for biting a police officer.
Asylum seeker Zimbabwean Mlungisi Moyo lunged forward from the back
seat of a patrol car - after he was arrested in Gateshead on suspicion of
drink-driving earlier this month - and bit the unnamed officer breaking his
skin.
The assault meant the arresting officer, who works for Northumbria Police,
had to take tests for HIV and hepatitis B, and will not know the results for
several months.
The 31-year-old defendant admitted assaulting a police officer, drinking-
driving and driving with no licence or insurance at a previous hearing.
He will be sentenced at Gateshead Magistrates’ Court.
After the assault, the chairman of Northumbria Police Federation, Russ
Watson, demanded Moyo receives a hefty sentence and deportation.
He said: “Assault on an officer should be seen as an assault on society.”
I hope the officer knocked all that pos's teeth(tooth) out so he is "unarmed"
