ABINGTON —
John Tassinari has seven favorite guns.
Now, ballistics experts will be checking to see if he used one of them to kill his wife.
The 29-year-old Abington man, accused of shooting his wife to death Tuesday night, posted a list of his favorite firearms on Aug. 24, 2007 on his MySpace page.
The guns included two Glocks, three Smith and Wessons, a Ruger MKIII, a Mossbberg Pump and a M4 flat top carbine, “for when you want to reach out and touch someone,” he said on the MySpace page.
Authorities say Tassinari called 911 Tuesday night and, when police arrived at his Abington home, officers found his wife, Barbara, dead in the yard. She had been shot multiple times.
Assistant District Attorney Bridget Norton Middleton said it appears she had been shot in the head.
He was to be arraigned in Brockton District Court today on charges of murder.
A portrait of Tassinari emerged on his MySpace sapce as a gun lover who said that he loved his wife and his family.
“Rock Out!! With Your Glock Out!!” he posted next to a photo of a Glock.
He posted a list of guns on his blog, detailing why he liked them. The S&W 340c, a .357 with a 5-round capacity, is a “great summer carry piece. ... Equally useful for formal attire,” he wrote.
The Glock 23, a .40 caliber gun, is “accurate and a very effective caliber,” he wrote.
The MySpace page also pays homage to his wife, Barbara, whom he married on Nov. 6, 2004.
“As a Virgo, I get too wrapped up in the small details of life and Barbara helps me to remember to step back and enjoy it all,” the page notes.
Tassinari, who described himself on his page as a firearms safety instructor and engineer, said he loved “cars, guns, motorcycles, vodka and A/V equipment.”f
Tassinari, who graduated from Braintree High school in 1996, holds a mechanical engineering degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The MySpace page entries give no hint of amy problem in the marriage.
When he last logged in Tuesday, the day of the slaying, Tassinari listed his mood as “fabulous.”
A woman identified on his page as “Babs,” age 29 of Abington, called Tassinari her “best friend” and “I love you very much and I thank you for loving your nutty wife!”
“Babs,” who also last logged in Tuesday, listed her mood as “groggy.”
She left a simple note Tuesday on her public accessible page, writing “Babs is preparing for a fun packed day.”
