QUINCY —
Police say a carjacker commandeered a vehicle in Quincy and was arrested on Cape Cod after the car was used in a gas station robbery in Brockton.
The criminal escapade began at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday when Quincy Police say a white male in his 30s stole a white Chrysler from a woman outside Supreme Liquors on Hancock Street. Television station WBZ reported the car was taken at knifepoint.
After stealing the car, the carjacker or possibly an accomplice stole money from the register at Coe’s Mobil in Brockton, according to Brockton Police.
The same white Chrysler was seen leaving the Brockton gas station at 10:03 p.m.
According to Brockton Police, the car was recovered and an arrest was made in Eastham at 2:46 a.m. Sunday.
Eastham Police referred comment to Quincy Police, who said no information was available Sunday night.
Officer apprehends driver who fled on foot

EASTHAM — A female officer apprehended a man who fled on foot after a car chase early yesterday morning, according to a department press release.
Officer Kate Mungovan pulled over a man, later identified as Edward Conrad, who was driving on Route 6 in a vehicle stolen in Quincy late Saturday night, according to the release.
Conrad took off after the officer approached the vehicle and asked for his license and registration. Mungovan lost sight of the vehicle as it sped north on Route 6.
Several minutes later, after giving chase, the officer spotted the vehicle being parked in the lot at the National Seashore Visitor Center.
The operator fled on foot, the release said.
Mungovan then pursued and apprehended Conrad. He is being charged with receiving stolen property over $250, failing to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, and a marked lane violation.
