MARSHFIELD —
A pickup truck stolen from a Marshfield home Friday night was found in the South River early Saturday morning, according to police.
Marshfield police said a Frisbee Road resident awoke Saturday morning to find that his beige GMC pickup truck missing.
Someone called the Scituate Fire Department at about 10:15 a.m. Saturday to report that a vehicle was in the water near the South River Yacht Club. The fire department’s dive team found that the vehicle was empty, Capt. Al Elliott said.
The fire department then helped Driftway Towing and Humarock Mooring and Diving Services remove the truck from the river, he said. The pickup was pulled out at about 12:45 p.m., he said.
Elliott said the fire department believes the truck had been in the water since about 3 a.m. Saturday, when a resident heard noises in a nearby parking lot.
