Does anyone know when the next academy is going to be? Originally it was to be in April, then I heard May 17th and now I am hearing possibly July or even September!?!?! I had the psych interview today which completes my process and I know many others finished today as well.

where did u get that from?

Here is an article regarding the governor's speech:
http://www.pbn.com/stories/30653.htm
Apparently he wants state agencies to "forego nonessential hiring." I don't know if you consider the DOC trying to keep its ranks staffed nonessential. I suppose it depends on how badly they need people, and from what I understand they have been hurting for the past few years.

I sure hope this doesn't affect DOC hiring. I just turned 19 today, so I couldn't take the last test...

They test just about every year it seems, so I wouldn't be too concerned.

Yeah how will deval afford gas for his Caddy with all the non essential hiring that occurs in this state!

i have heard that the april/may/june academy has been posponed until july/september, don't know how true it is, glad i made the last academy

The scores from the march 22nd test should be available 90 days after the exam date. says so right on the hrd website.

Just checking in with the September 2007 exam takers, if anyone's heard anything yet? Has anyone heard of a more definite time frame for the next academy?

Posted by: paulgta

i heard its A go for june... and the march test takers should have a start date of sept... thats it for hiring for a while i heard from someone on the inside

Posted by: Foxy85

I also heard Aug. / Sept for March Test takers..... from a couple of transpo guys that also work the academy/graduations... Lets keep our fingers crossed....

As far as that "being it" for hring for quite a while, I wouldn't bet on it, they are too short staffed...

Thanks for the replies paulgta and foxy85! Atleast I know that I still have a chance for that letter or call...
